Problem and Solution These two boards represent the problem in current cell phones and the solution created in the new concept.

Concept Expansion Phase II

After receiving feedback, the concept is expanded into three possible form factors for later development and more discussion.

Phase II Sketching

Further detailed and descriptive sketches are created while gradually reaching a somewhat final form. While sketching, explorations using a computer for quick form alterations and 3-D model studies are made simultaneously.

Sketch Phase III

While sketching, computer sketches are simultaneously made and explored. These computer sketches assisted in creating the later 3-D models, which were also simultaneously explored with throughout both sketch phases.

Computer Sketches

Computer Sketches are simultaneously worked on while sketching, and later the two are mixed together.

Profile and interface composition explorations.
3-D models

These models are created throughout the sketch and computer sketch phases. 3-D models are necessary to understand the form in actuality. All the models are made slowly by hand, gradually changing the form of each piece, allowing me to understand the benefits of each various form. The models were distributed out to several people to comment on, pros and cons about each individual form. As soon as the models were created a change in form immediately occurred, from thin to wider. An additional amount of research into ergonomic issues was made to find out that a grip a little smaller than 2-inches wide is the most universal width to grip.
