Below are sample screen possibilities of the DIGI-SHEET and what functions it provides. These samples serve as aids to help explain how and what software capabilities it has. The software for the Digi-Sheet is a large part of the entire project. The proposed software contributed to most of the solutions to problems were found through research with teachers, students, and composers of several ages. The capabilities of the software is mainly dependant on the advancements of sound recognition and Bluetooth technology, otherwise the technology for parts of the software exist today.

    JAM/CHAT
- Have the ability to communicate, practice with friends across the country.
- Find a partner or accompanist on the net.
- Easily view and edit what a partner is supposed to play and have the opportunity to quickly make changes.
- See up to four different music scores, enabling partners to share same viewing tablets or enabling one to view multiple parts at a time.
- Send out samples beats or tunes on net to get feedback on suggestions or comments.

ARTIST
- Learn behind the scenes lessons and tricks from artist of choice.
- Have private master class lessons with your favorite artist.
- See someone play, hear, and see music at the same time. This allows people to learn faster and enjoy learning more (kind of like karaoke).
- Buy video, lessons, and sheet music all-in-one.
- Be able to see how artist fingers notes and what positions are used compared to others.

    ORCHESTRA
- See program order, tempo, and other notes ahead of time.
- Never turn a page with auto-music scroll and auto program during performances and practices.
- See conductor up close or what the front chairs view with the digi-cam and Bluetooth technology.
- Split screen ability enabling split music measures to be easily viewed.(no more Xerox's of a few measures).
- Get instant updated notes, tempos and more from conductor or front chairs with bluetooth technology.(no more passing around the changes or writing down the wrong change).
- Easily access music quickly rather than scrambling through piles of paper.
- Easily edit the text/note size, color, font, or background color to your visual preference.

TEACHER
- Note-check. The computer marks measures in the music that a person has played differently than what is written and displays what is wrong Its like having a private teacher except you don't have to pay.
- CPU teacher or auto-accompanist. The computer will play background or accompanied music and follow the users speed and style. No need to play with a previous recording anymore.
- Teacher on the net. Find a good teacher from anywhere. No need to drive an hour here or there just to get a decent lesson for an hour or two. Have the lesson at home.
-Have the capability to record the private lessons to allow instant review.

These interface possibilities don't have samples but they are self explanatory

GAME (The instrument becomes the game console)
- With aid of the Digi-Fingerboard, play video games playing an instrument.Learn a song every time you beat a level. Increase the level for advanced play.
- Learn and enjoy playing in a different way. Kids will love to practice and play.

SIGHT-READ/BROWSE
- Still have the opportunity to quickly browse through entire scores before a concert in a car or anywhere else.

COMPOSE
- Easily compose musical compositions. Play music while the computer displays and records the noted being played. No more playing then writing then playing and writing over and over again.
- Record and hear multiple parts at various modes of speed, sound, rhythms, and more. Play a tune on a violin and hear how it might sound on a tuba.
- Record a self-orchestra. Create layers of music over each other.
- Record doodles and edit and paste later.
- Easily create and print out sheet music from printer.

Upon designing, image boards are created to gain a better understanding of where this product will be used.

   CURVES OF AN INSTRUMENT
To understand the rich yet simple settle curves of a classical instrument, in this case the violin and the bow.
   ENVIRONMENT
Where will this product be used; indoor/outdoor, onstage/off stage, in a house/ in a car, on a music stand/ on a chair.
   CURRENT MUSIC TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGNS
To look at how technology has affected the design of such an instrument and how products related to the violin appear. To see how they are designed to accommodate the two together.
   SKETCHES-PHASE I
After deciding to target the music industry, sketches were made to create a variety of shapes that could accommodate a consumer. Form studies at this point were minimal as what hardware could benefit a consumer was focused on.
   MID-CRIT
Four designs were created and rendered for discussion on pro's and con's and possibilities.

Digi-sheet- a replacement for sheet music that was basically a thin tablet and that had many other features.

Mini-Sheet- a miniature of the previous but more portable and less weight.
Digilin- a replacement for an instrument in the future based on the research of how pre-recordings of classical instruments could be duplicated genuinely, by sound, movement, pressure, and much more, by means of technology. Features included much of the Digi-Sheet and more.
Digi-Board- a design made after the DIGILIN that did not replace a stringed instrument but rather accompanied the DIGI-SHEET to give benefits that the DIGILIN did have.
These boards discuss if the final form should echo the simple shape of sheet music or if it should relate itself more to the simple curves of an instrument. Options discussing how and where button and camera placements could effect the final form are made. The lower six rendering shapes are back designs for the Mini-sheet.
